Referral Program Terms

These terms govern the Flowformance Referral Program, run by Balanced Company. They add to our Terms of Service, which still apply. By joining the program, or by sharing a Flowformance referral link as a partner, you agree to them.

1. The program

You share a referral link. When a new company signs up and pays through it, you earn a share of what that company pays. There are two kinds of partner:

  • Customer referrers — Flowformance customers who join from the app. Rewards are account credit only: credit on the Flowformance subscription of a workspace you own. Credit is never paid out as cash, has no cash value, and can’t be transferred or sold.
  • Influencer partners — people we invite under a separate arrangement with us. Rewards are paid in cash, as described in section 6.

2. Eligibility

  • The program is open only to partners in the United States, and a referral counts only for a referred company that is billed in the United States.
  • You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. One partnership per person: if you own several workspaces you have one link, and you choose which of your workspaces receives the credit.
  • A customer referrer must own at least one workspace that pays for Flowformance and is billed in the United States.
  • We may decline or end any partnership at our discretion.

3. How a referral is counted

  • A referral counts when someone follows your link, then signs up as a new Flowformance customer and pays. Following your link stores a first-party cookie for 60 days (see our Privacy Policy).
  • The first partner whose link a visitor follows keeps the referral for the life of that cookie. A company has at most one referrer, ever.
  • Existing customers, companies that add a workspace from inside Flowformance, and signups we can’t attribute to your link don’t count.
  • You see counts and totals for your links — never which companies signed up.

4. Commissions, holds, refunds and chargebacks

  • You earn the percentage shown to you when you join (or in your arrangement with us) of what a referred company actually pays for its subscription, excluding taxes, for the number of paid months shown. A change to your rate applies only to companies referred afterwards.
  • Each commission is held for 60 days after the payment before it is paid or credited.
  • If a payment is refunded or charged back, the commission on it is reversed. A reversal after the commission was paid or credited is taken from your future commissions. We never charge a customer referrer’s account to recover it; an influencer partner’s next payouts are reduced until it is recovered.
  • A charge-back on a commission already paid or credited may pause your partnership while we review it.

5. Customer referrers: account credit

  • Credit is added to the workspace you chose, once it has cleared the hold, while you are still an owner of that workspace and its subscription is active. Otherwise it is held until that workspace is active again or you choose another eligible workspace you own.
  • Credit comes off that workspace’s future invoices automatically. It is not refundable as cash, including when you cancel.

6. Influencer partners: payouts and taxes

  • You are an independent contractor, not an employee, agent or representative of Balanced Company. You may not make commitments on our behalf.
  • We pay nothing until we have received your completed IRS Form W-9. You are responsible for your own taxes on what we pay you.
  • Payouts are made monthly, after the 1st, for commissions that have cleared the hold. A month under $50 carries over to the next. When a partnership ends, what you have earned is paid in a final payout, whatever the amount, unless it is withheld under section 9.
  • Payment and tax details are exchanged with us directly and are not stored in the Flowformance app.

7. No self-referral

You may not refer yourself, a company you own, work for or belong to, or anyone sharing your email domain or payment method. These referrals are rejected automatically, and attempts to get around this are a breach of these terms.

8. How you may promote, and how you may not

Tell people honestly what Flowformance does. You may not:

  • bid on our name or brand terms in paid search, or use them in domain names or ads;
  • send unsolicited email or messages (including in breach of the CAN-SPAM Act), or post spam;
  • stuff cookies, force or hide clicks, open your link automatically, or offer incentives for clicks or signups;
  • list your link on coupon, deal or cashback sites;
  • make false or misleading claims about Flowformance, its features or its prices, or offer discounts we haven’t authorized;
  • impersonate Flowformance or Balanced Company, or suggest you speak for us.

Disclose the relationship. Whenever you recommend Flowformance, say clearly that you earn a commission or credit from it, as the FTC’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255) require.

9. Withholding and forfeiture

If we reasonably believe you broke these terms, or a referral involves fraud or abuse, we may withhold, reverse or forfeit the commissions involved (including ones not yet paid or credited), pause or end your partnership, and recover amounts already paid or credited.

10. Changes and ending the program

We may change these terms, the program or the rates for future referrals, or end the program, at any time. We’ll ask you to accept material changes before they apply to you. If the program ends, commissions already earned are still paid or credited under these terms. You may leave at any time; what you earned before leaving is still paid or credited.
